As companies today create more digital assets than ever before, managing them effectively to create valuable content has climbed up their priority list. “However, most of the Data Asset Management (DAM) solutions available in the market are either outdated or little more than an existing system implemented by IT and non-DAM experts,” says Wolfgang Kaufmann, CEO, eyebase. Headquartered in Munich, Germany, eyebase offers a DAM suite that supports the entire lifecycle of a media asset, from its creation to archiving. With an industry presence for more than two decades, eyebase harnesses its expertise into a powerful, modern, and lightweight web-based DAM system. “An important factor of our success, besides our feature-rich software, is the expertise of our management to handle large DAM projects,” adds Kaufmann.

eyebase, available as SaaS or as an on-site installation, covers 80 percent of a customer’s DAM requirements. eyebase’s affordable, lean, and simple modular structure makes it easier for customers to purchase and use what they need.

Built on HTML5, eyebase is natively compatible with all mobile devices, such as iPad, and can function without an app. Their cloud-based software fulfils the demands of all participants within the lifecycle of a media asset. The DAM system is platform independent and accompanies creative professionals and can be embedded seamlessly in surrounding systems, like Adobe Lightroom, InDesign or eCommerce platforms on the deployment side.

eyebase offers an easy to use system to collect, categorize and find media assets and the powerful API make the media assets available to third party systems

“Web technology makes eyebase open to all platforms by default and its strong but simple-to-use API allows easy integration with existing third party systems,” says Kaufmann. eyebase consists of unique features like quick sharing of assets with just a few clicks or efficiently editing vast amounts of content. “Our workflow handling is also quite unique as it is designed to provide a new system to all users and can be adapted to existing systems or optimized to processes easily.”

The company’s highly agile and experienced staff together with its proven and feature rich software give eyebase a competitive advantage. For instance, hotelleriesuisse, the umbrella institution of Swiss hotel association that caters to more than 3,000 hotels in Switzerland, was benefitted by utilizing eyebase’s DAM suite. As visuals have become de rigueur while booking hotel rooms, the organization wanted to improve the quality of its images for all their affiliates. Up to now, poor quality or mismatched images were uploaded manually by hotel marketing staff to multiple online platforms. “eyebase was selected because we could create an easy upload and categorization function on the front end of the hotelleriesuisse portal without confronting the 3,000 plus hotel owners with the GUI of eyebase itself,” says Kaufmann.

“In the past two years, we have made a significant effort to embed eyebase even deeper and more seamlessly into the entire media-related business processes,” states Kaufmann. The company has recently released eyeSync which can be combined with Dropbox. eyeSync can be synced with eyebase folder to local systems. eyebase has partnered with an American company to develop an Adobe InDesign connector that helps creative professionals access a centrally managed and organized image inventory resulting in efficient and smooth production process.

Moving forward, eyebase caters to 17 languages and are in the process of finding distribution and integration partners in other countries. “Many multinational customers are reaching out to us and we want to be prepared to sell eyebase in other countries once we find the right partners,” he concludes.
