FREMONT, CA: Block.one, the multibillion-dollar start-up that manufactured the EOSIO platform, is the newest Blockchain firm with social-media objectives. At an elegant event in Washington, D.C., the new platform has been named Voice. The platform aims to stand out among other players in the market by not turning its users into mere products. The enterprise claims that real users, as an alternative to bots, will be using the platform, referring to the widespread problems of fake accounts on traditional social media platforms. This usually results in flooding of consumer feeds with agendas dictated by the highest bidder, which Voice desires to change. Voice will perform on the EOS Blockchain, which has also been upgrading to a faster Version 2.0. By using the public chain, everything that gets posted to EOS will be public.
According to company sources, Block.one’s new social media product will not let algorithms decide what to dominate. Everyone―the user, the platform, and the contributor―have to play by the same rules and will have an equal shot to be heard. Voice is expected to do a better job of keeping out trolls and bots to ensure a steady and smooth flow of data.
In the past, the company had discussed methods to further develop their EOS interface by integrating with WebAuthn and brought on stage a product lead from Yubico, the manufacturers of YubiKey. WebAuthn is a password-less standard recently approved by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which governs the internet.
Block.one has also announced a new token provided with an EOS account to anyone signing up for Voice. In addition, the company has been vying hard to ease additional pressure on the EOS Blockchain. Soon it will announce the development of a more enhanced Blockchain―EOSVM―a Web Assembly engine explicitly designed for Blockchain. According to the company standards, EOSVM will run 12 times faster than the original EOSIO software, which was released on June 1, 2018.
