An increase in video and audio consumption globally has increased the market worth of broadcasting equipment by 7 percent. By 2030, the broadcasting equipment market will reach USD 7 million.
FREMONT, CA: During the pandemic, the demand for broadcasting equipment of electrical machines has increased. Video remains the most popular form of consumption. The digital broadcasting sector is the largest shareholder in the global broadcast equipment market. By 2030, the segment will generate USD 7 million and grow at a CAGR of 7 percent. Followed closely is the encoders segment, the highest market share holder, projected to generate USD 3 million and grow at a CAGR of 6 percent.
Factors that are expanding the broadcasting equipment market
Algorithms: Video encoders converting digital formats are processors that use certain algorithms to encode particular data into streamable content. The equipment for such encoding is smaller, portable boxes and larger permanent fixtures, giving hardware encoding professionals an edge over software encoders. These encoders are also being used with multiple cameras. Encoders handle multiple HD channels and send multiple destination make live event broadcasts that broadcast content on different media outlets possible. The demand increases as infrastructure is continuously upgrading and innovating.
OTT services: The OTT delivery system consists of servers that store and stream content in formats like HLS, HDS, HSS, and MPEG-DASH. The surge in video consumption through OTT platforms increases the popularity of different types of equipment like video servers and SDI and HDSR encoders.
Dish-to-consumer (D2C) services: The popularity of OTT services is increasing the growth of D2C services, making greater use of cloud-based services. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) provide consumption trends for services to cater to the right demographic. The market for broadcasting equipment is thus growing.
Cloud-based systems: Cloud-based services are pre-integrated into equipment to reduce the dependency on hardware. Moving from on-premise hardware to cloud-based systems reduced costs, increased workflow efficiency, and expanded the market for new channels.
Algorithms, OTT, D2C, and cloud-based services have added to the market value of equipment broadcasting. The pandemic has sped up the acceptance of distributed workflows for broadcasters to increase operational agility. Broadcasting equipment enabled programs like conferencing tools to expand their operation globally.
