Video streaming services may take advantage of enterprise-grade application security as part of Intertrust's ExpressPlay Anti-Piracy portfolio by combining the ExpressPlay Media Security Suite with Jscrambler's client-side security platform.
Fremont, CA: "Our partnership with Jscrambler will enable us to offer a premium technology to protect JavaScript and HTML5 streaming players and apps and help video streaming operators reduce piracy threats by ensuring that every link in the content delivery chain is solid and secure," states Ali Hodjat, VP of Marketing at Intertrust Expressplay. Jscrambler, a technology firm focusing on client-side security for web and mobile applications, and Intertrust, a global leader in media security and anti-piracy services, are teaming up to create a unified solution for streaming service providers. Video streaming platforms can benefit from enterprise-grade application security as part of Intertrust's ExpressPlay Anti-Piracy portfolio, which protects JavaScript/HTML5 streaming players and apps against tampering, piracy, and data theft by integrating Intertrust's ExpressPlay Media Security Suite with Jscrambler's client-side security platform.
As web-based streaming applications and players become more complicated and popular, piracy and attacks against them are on the rise, necessitating a defense-in-depth strategy. Jscrambler is a leader in web app client-side protection, which is one of the most important areas in application security. ExpressPlay customers benefit from advanced technology that secures their video delivery platforms, decreasing exposure to pirates while also securing intellectual property and sensitive user data, thanks to Jscrambler's client-side security platform.
Jscrambler also prevents tampering and bypass of the client-side watermarking solutions provided as part of ExpressPlay Watermarking and Anti-Piracy services. It protects the source code of the player and the watermarking client while ensuring that they are run in the expected environment and by authorized users, ensuring adherence to content license agreements. This method also protects users' data because user credentials and financial information transit through the client-side application at some point.
“During these last few years, we have seen an industry-wide move towards JavaScript and HTML5 streaming players. It’s crucial that companies in this space protect the source code of these players and harden client-side watermarking solutions”, states Carlos Rocha Gon§alves, Head of Marketing and Sales at Jscrambler. “This partnership with Intertrust ExpressPlay will allow us to deliver cutting-edge security to streaming operators, minimizing the risk of piracy and data leaks, while also protecting proprietary algorithms.”
