JVC Professional Video has extended its commitment to offer the video production industry with high-quality streaming solutions.

FREMONT, CA: JVC Professional Video is a part of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation. It has extended its commitment to offer the video production industry with the top-most-quality streaming solutions in a comprehensive, plug-and-play package with its new CONNECTED CAM firmware update. By utilizing the open-source Secure Reliable Transport (SRT)technology, JVC has also added Forward Error Correction (FEC) and Stream Identifier (ID)to its 500 Series and 900 Series CONNECTED CAM devices. The latest firmware reinforces JVC's position in the industry as the prominent provider of high-quality end-to-end streaming capable camera solutions.

FEC's addition to JVC's CONNECTED CAM will allow users to recover lost data. This means that data loss can be rectified before the video buffers, while Stream ID will make it possible for numerous cameras to stream directly to a single device. The organization has also integrated VITC (vertical interval time code) and LTC (longitudinal time code) functions with the new update. These functions are essential during a live production and coordinated streaming of live events, like concerts, sports, ceremonies, and conferences.

Joe D'Amico, Vice President, JVC Professional Video, said, "As the first camera manufacturer to provide streaming direct from the camera itself, JVC offers the complete solution beyond just the camera. The CONNECTED CAM system, with compatible decoders and switchers and SRT's open source technology, provides a truly plug-and-play streaming ecosystem that does not require expensive backpacks. Itis ideal for IP-based productions as it delivers high-quality, reliable images."

The JVC CONNECTED CAM system also consists of an SRT-based BR-DE900 decoder, BR-EN900 encoder, and the KM-IP6000 switcher. It is an easy to use streaming solution that can maintain a wide range of budgets. The system's cross-compatibility among brands also means that utilizers can combine the new streaming video abilities with the present streaming studio equipment.
