Rascular's launch of the NDI® ViewMaster is designed to improve the user experience of their NDI applications.
FREMONT, CA: Rascular, creators of software-based control and monitoring solutions for third-party professional video technology, releases ViewMaster, a flexible and easy-to-use NDI stream multiviewer. It complements the RouteMaster and RouteMaster Lite NDI routing and stream management products offered by the firm.
Ephraim Barrett, Sales Director, Rascular, says, “NDI has really taken off across the world of IP video and this has been reflected in our activities and sales. Speaking with our customers it’s clear that they need a simple, flexible but powerful, NDI multiviewer, suitable for use across broadcast, A/V and streaming. ViewMaster is the answer.”
It is an easy-to-use, attractively designed NDI multiviewer that takes several video and audio streams and combines them into appealing and customizable layouts on a single screen, allowing users to quickly and monitor the available streams. Its HDMI output makes it compatible with a wide variety of monitors.
ViewMaster and its simple and easy configuration tool make it possible to configure it to display a maximum of 25 streams, either input or output, and effortlessly transition between the two. Each stream's name is prominently displayed, and users can quickly select which NDI sources/destinations to see. ViewMaster's display of tallies—program and preview—may also be customized, and it fully supports NewTek's tally system technology. There are options for stereo and quad audio metering and hearing the audio on a selected stream.
RouteMaster Lite, Rascular's robust and versatile stream management, and NDI® routing solution integrate easily with ViewMaster. Naturally, it also functions in conjunction with third-party technologies in any NDI system. ViewMaster also integrates with the company's RouteMaster router control program in the NDI domain for customers seeking further configuration and flexibility.
Barrett adds, “We are seeing use of NDI across a wide range of applications and we only expect this to grow. Our NDI stream management technology has been very successful. We speak to a wide range of customers all the time and a technologically elegant multiviewer solution was top of their list to join our NDI ecosystem. We also have other applications under development, more news of which soon.”
NDI, a proprietary technology developed by NewTek, is a royalty-free standard that enables IP video processes across Ethernet networks. NDI is a bidirectional standard that allows video systems to recognize and communicate with one another over IP and encode, transmit, and receive multiple streams of broadcast-quality, low-latency, frame-accurate video and audio in real-time.
