BURLINGTON, MA: Sinclair Broadcast Group, a television station operator, implements consistent news production and end-to-end workflows using the Avid MediaCentral Platform, an open, extensible, and customizable foundation that simplifies workflows by tightly integrating all products and services that run on top of it. Sinclair wishes to merge production teams with Avid, across its network of 62 news-producing stations. The plug and play system model of Avid Everywhere can be adapted and scaled as per the needs and sizes of the diverse news producing systems.
"Consistency is very important to our organization, and Avid Everywhere provides us with the same workflow across all of our stations," says Don Roberts, Director of Television Systems, Sinclair Broadcast Group.
Sinclair’s new core workflow features news content creation and collaborative newsroom management using iNEWS, highly scalable shared storage through ISIS, automated production asset management with Interplay |Production, access to workflows from any browser or mobile device through Avid MediaCentral |UX and Air Speed video servers for cost efficient play to air capability. Avid is providing training to Sinclair for shifting workflows to avoid any break or disturbance in delivering news.
"By embracing Avid Everywhere, Sinclair is aligning stations in dozens of different markets around a consistent set of core workflows that will enable them to enhance collaboration and share media assets, so they can efficiently produce more content, more quickly, across its entire network." says Jeff Rosica, SVP, Worldwide Field Operations, Avid.
