FREMONT, CA: Stardock will soon launch The Video Game Machine, a sandbox game where players can create, play, and share video games of their very own. During the announcement, Scott Tykoski, the lead designer, said that The Video Game Machine is a game that lets the user pick a genre and choose some rules, and unleash the potential of the inner game designer. The genre choice takes care of the game's basic mechanics. The gamer sets up its own game rules and selects the desired characters such as ninjas, knights, and more.
The Video Game Machine involves a host of already-made games that gamers can edit, or they can choose with a blank slate and start creating. Players can even share their games online and also download those, which are made by others. The game has been designed to be comfortable so that everyone can create their own game without any hassle. The lead designer even said that the art style was a match of 1980s and 1990s golden age and included a lot of premade graphics sets. Platformer and Adventure are the first two genres included in an Alpha for The Video Game Machine, which begins on 29th of this month. Even people who are not interested in making games will find a host of classic-style games available to play.
