The global online video platforms’ market size is projected to reach $2.24 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 12.4 percent during the forecast period. That growth is powered by a significant surge in demand for live video and audio streaming services over the Internet.

Tencent Cloud, one of the world's leading cloud companies with extensive expertise in audio and video technologies, is ideally positioned to help companies keep pace with demand. It has decades of experience in delivering powerful and robust cloud solutions to global enterprises in various fields, including media and entertainment, gaming, audio and video technologies, social communications, and fintech.

Tencent Cloud's well-received and highly commended services and solutions speak for themselves. Indeed, Tencent Cloud ranked first in terms of audio and video solution market share for five consecutive years in China, according to IDC. Recently, Frost & Sullivan also named Tencent Cloud as the number one services provider in the APAC media services market, with 33.4 percent of media and entertainment firms choosing it to meet their future media services needs, ranging from content creation, processing, and transmission, to real-time communication, video-ondemand, and live streaming.

“Drawing upon our high-quality, high-performance services and solutions, we have built and launched the international audio and video brand Tencent Cloud Media Services, featuring one-stop media solutions from PaaS to SaaS to help businesses enhance immersive audience experiences and create customized virtual worlds,” says Poshu Yeung, senior vice president, Tencent Cloud International.

Tencent Cloud Media Services features a range of leading media solutions from Tencent Cloud, from the Media Processing Service (MPS), Stream Services, Videoon- Demand, and Tencent Real-Time Communication (TRTC), to Chat (instant messaging), Content Delivery Network (CDN), Beauty AI/AR and the SaaS media platform, Tencent Cloud Online Video Platform (TOVP).

The report also revealed strong integration in Tencent Cloud's end-to- end media services, such as the consolidation of network resources into the Tencent RT-ONE Network to improve customers' operational cost efficiency and out-of-box SDKs to improve usability and further lower the technical barrier for clients.

For example, MPS is cited as a top performer in video encoding solutions according to the reports released by Streaming Learning Center (SLC). It helps reduce bandwidth and storage costs by 50 percent without compromising video quality. Equally impressive is TOVP, which helps OTT operators, content owners, publishers, media, and broadcasters distribute audio and video content to H5 websites and electronic devices with zero code.

"We have put in a lot of effort to optimize the live video streaming experience for quality and low latency and to ensure reasonable response under slow and unstable network conditions," says Yeung.

In one instance, it helped Pakistan’s top-tier video streaming platform, ARY ZAP, deploy its live broadcast service on the cloud within 20 days and steadily stream ultra-high-definition sports events. Tencent Cloud’s products, including StreamPackage, and StreamLive, allowed ARY ZAP to reduce the ‘stuttering rate’ by 40 percent, among other benefits that enhance user experience.
